PS 150 Raises $439 for Nepal

Nepal copyThank you to everyone who so generously supported our bake sale yesterday afternoon! We raised a terrific amount of money in 45 minutes and 100% of the proceeds are going to MercyCorp’s relief work in Nepal.

A special thank you to Dean Chapman (5th Gr.) for continuing to sell our baked goods at his lemonade stand after we had closed up shop, and for donating a portion of his proceeds to our effort.

PS 150 Sings at Tribeca Family Festival

Our children mounted the stage last Saturday afternoon at the Tribeca Family Festival Street Fair and were amazing! Here they are singing “This Little Light of Mine,” “Turn The World Around,” and “Brand New Day.” Congratulations and thank you to Tony and our kids!

Come to the Taste of Tribeca Kickoff Cocktail Party

2015TOTcocktailpartyTaste of Tribeca 2015 is exactly one month away!

The organizing committee, comprised of parents from PS 150 and PS 234, has been meeting since December to prepare for the big event. It’s a lot of work and we could all use a drink, so please join us at the kick-off cocktail party, being generously hosted by Café Noir at its new Tribeca location on Monday, April 27 from 6PM-9PM. There will be Mediterranean hors d’oeuvres by Café Noir, custom cocktails by Steve Olson, much merriment, and only one or two friendly reminders that we will need your help on Saturday, May 16.

Tickets for the cocktail party are $80 ($90 at the door, subject to availability) and include one ticket to Taste. Buy them here – along with extra Taste tickets for your family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors.

P.S. Taste ticket prices go up May 1, so act quickly!

Help The Greek Get Its Sidewalk Cafe

Welcome back! Hope you had a delightful spring break and are ready for the final stretch of the school year. Taste of Tribeca and the Arts Festival are coming up quickly and we will post all the information very shortly.

Meanwhile, while you are enjoying the warm-er weather and looking ahead to outdoor dining season, consider supporting our friends and neighbors at The Greek Tribeca. Located on 448 Greenwich St. between Vestry and Desbrosses, The Greek has been unable to operate a sidewalk cafe for the past two years because its landlord will not sign the Landlord Authorization Form, a requirement even though sidewalks are city property. The Greek is collecting signatures for a petition to Margaret Chin and The New York City Council, to have the authorization form removed from the application process.

The Green is a loyal supporter of Taste of Tribeca and a neighborhood fave. Please read their message and show your support!
